Left: Dry, Right: Wet
When my trusty Laura Mercier brow pencil was very sadly reformulated to a really poor, waxy pencil I had to go on the hunt for a new brow product. I then remembered using Motto Brow Cake from Illamasqua when I used to work on their counter and I always loved it back then so thought I'd order one. My tastes haven't changed over time as I still think this is a really fantastic brow product.
It's a taupe colour which is perfect for anyone who has no red in their hair. It can be used either wet or dry - wet obviously giving a stronger finish. I actually used to find this worked so well on a host of people, both blondes and brunettes. Used dry it's great for darkening up blonde brows who can afford to go a couple shades darker than their natural colour. For brunettes, since it's a tad lighter than dark brown hair, it stops the brows from looking overly dark and harsh when filling them in. It's also great on Oriental Asian brows for a soft look as again, it has no warmth in it and it's not too dark. When used wet, you can also mimic individual hairs if you're just filling in sparse areas.
I use an angled brow brush to apply this. To use it wet, just spray your brush with water first and mix it to a paste. It's very easy to apply and I find it also lasts very well.
Overall I'd highly recommend! I've no complaints whatsoever! They also do a good few other colours so there's a good choice available. It retails at £15.50.
